For students, the career fair is the highlight of a week of events dedicated to teaching students about career opportunities in retailing. Students have the chance to hear executives speak about retailing strategies, recent innovations, and the wealth of career opportunities available to them.

For retailers, the career fair provides an opportunity to meet with Longwood University and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, John Tyler Community College, and the Community College Workforce Alliance students in a retail-focused environment. Oftentimes students with similar majors are brought together to browse a variety of employers. However, the Retailing Career Fair is unique in that it brings students with diverse backgrounds together with employers in a single industry.

On the evening prior to the fair, the Retail University Career Center hosts a special event designed to give recruiters the opportunity:

• To discuss with a panel of our top retailing students employer's needs and desires concerning hiring and internships
